How will your data be used
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To issue parking charge notices.
- To identify the driver of a vehicle by requesting the registered keeper data from the Driving. and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
- To process, investigate, and respond to appeals and/or complaints.
- To pursue and collect unpaid parking charges, including through debt recovery and legal processes where necessary.
- To comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements.
Your data may be shared with
We may share your personal data with the following organisations where necessary for the purposes of parking enforcement, debt recovery, and legal compliance:
- Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) – to request registered keeper details
- Debt resolution agencies – to pursue unpaid parking charges
- Solicitors – for legal advice, representation and litigation
- County/High Courts – in connection with unpaid parking charges
- Bailiffs – to recover unpaid charges under court order
- Landowners and/or managing agents – where relevant to the management of parking on their property
- Trade bodies – for compliance, industry standards, or alternate dispute resolution (ADR)
- Independent Appeals Service (IAS) – to review and process impartial appeals
- Law enforcement and regulatory agencies – where required to prevent or investigate criminal/civil offences
Data Retention Periods
We will retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. While there is no fixed retention period for all data, some examples relevant to private parking enforcement are as follows:
- DVLA data – All data obtained from the DVLA will be retained for a minimum of two years in line with the Keeper at Date of Event (KADOE) contract terms and conditions.
- Financial and tax records – In accordance with guidance from His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), most business financial and tax records will be kept for a minimum of six years.
- Unpaid parking charges – Personal data relating to unpaid parking charges will be securely held until the charge is either settled or until the point at which the debt becomes statutorily barred under UK law.
After the relevant retention period, personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised in a manner that protects the privacy of individuals.
